The New Abuja Capital International College
The New Abuja Capital International College (NACIC) reopens in September 2020 and is planned as a privately owned, co‐educational, non‐denominational, day and boarding school with a capacity for over 500 students of all nationalities aged 10 – 18 years. Management of the school is vested in a Board of Governors. In September 2020, Abuja Capital International College will be re‐launched as, The New Abuja Capital International College.
The school is situated on a contained, secure campus of 10,500 square meters in a gated community estate of the rapidly developing Gwarinpa district of Abuja.
The purpose‑built, air‑conditioned facilities encompass twenty large classrooms, four laboratories, an ICT lab, a
library, a spacious multi‑purpose hall with a stage, a theatre, and a dining hall. Both the multi‑purpose and dining halls each seat over 500 students. There is a gym in the school, as well as a sports arena to cater to all sporting activities within the school.
There are numerous administrative offices, while two fully-equipped boarding houses provide accommodation and recreational facilities for up to 400 boarders. Our boarding house facility is designed to maximize students’ comfort. With two students in a room, our students are afforded a level of privacy and personal space, while they learn to associate and live with others. To further enhance student comfort, each boarding house has designated common areas for socializing and entertainment. We have separate boarding house facilities for boys and girls, and each house has resident house parents for appropriate supervision.
The College is located in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, which is situated on the central plateau of Nigeria and enjoys a tropical climate. It was designated as the Federal Capital in late 1991.
The city has developed rapidly into a cosmopolitan city, and most federal government offices and diplomatic missions have now moved to Abuja, thereby giving it a more secure atmosphere for all nationals to live and work here. Our school is located strategically in Abuja in a gated community within the Gwarinpa Estate. Security is enhanced by the school’s close proximity to The Nigerian Police Command Headquarters and The Nigerian Army War College Estate, giving the college maximum security at all times.
Our dual-track language program gives our graduates an edge over their counterparts from other schools, as it allows students to pick from multiple languages, depending on their future place of study.
Our language program is one part of an extensive range of activities on offer in the school, enabling all our students to find the area(s) in which they can excel. In this way, they come to an appreciation of their worth as individuals and gain the leadership qualities which we aspire to instill as a hallmark of our educational program.
With our international mindedness, we have established strong and formidable partnerships with international education regulatory bodies to ensure we maintain the highest academic standards. We are a member of the British Council Global School Partnership and one of the Centers for international examinations for Nottingham University and Coventry University in the UK, as well as universities in the US, UAE, Malaysia, Singapore and Ukraine. Our students have sat for various internationally recognized examinations such as the Cambridge Checkpoints and IGCSE, as well as the International University Foundation Programme
Examinations, among others.
Our students consistently excel with distinction, which has allowed them to pursue their academic goals across the globe, in places as diverse as the Middle East, Europe, and North America, as well as universities in Africa.
